"HAPPINESS AND REGRETS"
By Jade Karen C. Cariaga
Once upon a time, there was a student named, Lalisa. Her country was experiencing a wide and quick spread of disease that is why the country announced that students would still continue their studies at their homes.
It was a despair for her and had the doubt if she could cope up with that kind of learning, a distanced learning, indeed.
It was Monday when the distribution if first learning materials and answer sheets happened. Lalisa pouted and forcedly sat down in front of her table. "How can I do it? For real??? There will be no teachers beside me anymore???" She rolled her eyes on that thought. "I'll better start reading now" she sighed then started reading the learning materials.
She was in the midst of reading when a sheet of paper fell down as it was blown by the wind causing her to stop what she was currently doing and got the sheet. "What is this?" she asked then started reading what's on the sheet. "An answer key" she shouted in disbelief.
"Ahuh!" she nodded. "I know what to do now, men!" she did a evil smile. So she started copying the answer key and putting them down on her answer sheets causing her to not to read the learning materials anymore.
A week passed and she did the same. "Why there's no answer key for this?" she spoke irritatedly. She held her chin and think for a couple of minutes. She was busy thinking when her eyes paused on her phone. "As if you can tell the answers, tch" she rolled.her eyes. She still grabbed her phone for unknown reason hoping for a solution on her problem. She stare on it when something suddenly popped up in her head. "I know what to do, men" she smiled widely.
What she did was to search on Google the answers for every question on her answer sheet. She already had the technique which gave her happiness. Happiness for the thought that she didn't need to study harder anymore.
It was checking time then her teacher announced on their group chat that she got the highest score. It was a great victory for her. She was so happy at that moment.
Months passed and she did the same technique. And again, she's the highest.
One day, their teacher announced that all students should come to their school following proper health protocols. For the reason of having their last test. Every student was required to answer all the questions raised without any back-up notes.
Lalisa felt doomed and doubted if she could pass the last test which was the most important test of all that tests whether they would accelerate on the next grade level or not. She doubted a lot for she never read one of the reading materials since the day she knew the 'bad technique'.
The test was done and everyone was expecting hee to be the highest. But it was a bad luck when the teacher announced that she got the lowest score and worst, didn't even pass the exam.
At last, she regret everything and wished that she xould brinv
